The 2nd International Conference on Space Exploration at Ministerial Level was held in Brussels on the 21st October.

The conference discussed future space technologies, space exploration and related international cooperation and partnership to name but a few.

H.E. Ambassador Odano and Counselor Okamura from the Mission of Japan to the EU attended the meeting and outlined Japan's priorities and programmes in space exploration.

In addition, Mr. Kazuyuki Tasaki, Director, Paris Office, of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) introduced the recent developments and achievements of Japan's space activities including that of "Hayabusa", the first spacecraft to land on a celestial body other than the moon and return to the earth with a sample of its surface.
